Jeff Thompson, CFP®
Financial Advisor
Jeff opened his first Roth IRA at 16 years old with money he saved from picking up golf balls at a local driving range. He didn’t fully understand how unusual that was until later in life when he realized that most of his peers spent their money as soon as they got paid. Seeing this made him realize that he may be able to help people when it comes to saving and investing.
He is a graduate of the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. Before joining Raymond James in 2014, Jeff worked as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch. Prior to his time in the financial services industry, he served as area director for Young Life, a nonprofit ministry for teenagers in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Jeff finds the most joy in connecting with his clients beyond the dollars and investments. He finds that while he starts new client relationships with estimates and figures, eventually, he finds himself with a meaningful connection that spans beyond financial decisions.
Having such a personal bond with his clients separates Jeff from the average financial planner, allowing him to dig deep and really learn who his clients are. For Jeff, it is a blessing to step back and see his clients' newfound peace of mind concerning their financial future amidst so much uncertainty.
Jeff lives in Liberty Township with his wife, Madison, and three children - although it isn’t unusual for them to have more kids in their home as they are licensed foster parents. He is on the board of Young Life Cincinnati, as well as a member of Red Door Church. Outside of work, Jeff spends a majority of this time with his family, working in the yard, playing an infrequent round of golf or waiting impatiently for Joe Burrow to win the Bengals a Super Bowl!
